DESCRIPTION:  The Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to
upgrade the ROM Firmware images for Compaq System product Options.  The
Options ROMPaq consists of ten (10) diskettes:

	Disk 1 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for the 
		 Compaq SMART-2, Smart Array 3100ES, Smart Array 
		 3200, Smart Array 221, and Raid Array 4000 Controllers

	Disk 2 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 3 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Additional Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 4 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Extra Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 5 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Supplementary Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

* NOTE: This Option ROMPaq does not contain firmware images for the

Enhancements/Fixes:
- Rename the Compaq Fibre Channel Array Controller to the Compaq Raid Array 4000

- Upgraded SMART-2 Family Controllers, Smart Array 3100ES and 3200 Controllers and 
  Smart Array 221 Controller firmware to 4.10 for the following issues:
        - Clear false POST Error 1720
        - Fix rebuild not continuing on multiple volumes after first volume was rebuilt 
          until a reboot occurred.
        - Fix issue where redundant controllers could lock up following a PCI hot-replace

- Upgraded Compaq Raid Array 4000 Controller firmware to 2.40 to address
  the following issues:

	- Controller not becoming ready if hot-plugged
	- Corrected controller lockup under certain conditions
        - Corrected issues with upgrading attached drive firmware

- Upgraded Compaq Bx0xxx1 hard drive firmware to 3B02.
- Upgraded Compaq HB00xx31 hard drive firmware to A193

  NOTE:   Multiple firmware versions exist for these products. This
          ROMpaq utility will identify and upgrade the correct firmware to the
          specific OEM tape hardware product.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain ten (10) formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.

4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. The Options ROMPaq diskettes are self-booting diskettes.  Place each
ROMPaq diskette into your drive A: diskette drive and power cycle your
system to begin updating the appropriate components.
