DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates the Compaq Server Support (SSD) for the
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 diskettes.  There are a total of four
diskettes with this release. The SSD supports the following subsystems

	invalid firmware for Quantum DLT 7000 tape drives, 
	which are incapable of running at high speed with firmware 
	versions earlier than 0x2050.  When the incorrect firmware 
	is detected, the driver forces the tape drive to run at 
	the slowest speed, which is asynchronous 8-bit.

Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0(SETUP.EXE)

?	Added new command-line support for the Compaq Ethernet, 
	Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Controller Drivers.  Refer to 
	the Command-Line Installations section for the supported 
	commands and associated constraints.

Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver(CPQARRAY.SYS) 

?	Updated the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver 
	from Version 4.01.03.36 to Version 4.01.03.37. 
?	Added support for virtual Logical Unit Number (LUN) capability.  
	This support provides you with the ability to configure logical 
	drives online without having to configure a logical drive 
	offline first.

Compaq System Management Driver(SYSMGMT.SYS) 

?	Updated the Compaq System Management Driver from Version 
	3.18.02 to Version 3.21.01. 
?	Corrected a problem in which a Windows NT BugCheck would 
	be the result of the system encountering a large number 
	of correctable processor errors.  This issue affects all 
	Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium II Xeon, 
	and Pentium III Xeon systems configured with the Compaq 
	System Management Driver Versions 3.06.01 through 3.18.02.
?	Added support for the following new products:
		Compaq ProLiant 8500 
		1150/500 Watt Hot Plug Redundant Power Supply
?	Corrected a problem with returning incorrect data to the 
	Compaq Insight Manager Software Version Control Agent on the 
	Compaq ProLiant 400 and the Compaq ProSignia 720.  This 
	issue resulted in the display of improper installation 
	and version data for Compaq utilities that reside on the 
	system partition even though the system partition is not 
	supported on the previously mentioned servers.
?	Corrected a problem on the Compaq ProLiant 5500 (Pentium Pro models) 
	and the Compaq ProLiant 3000 (Pentium II models) in which Compaq 
	Insight Manager would continue to indicate that a power supply 
	had failed after its line cord was removed and subsequently replaced.
?	Corrected a problem on the Compaq ProLiant 6500 (Pentium II Xeon 
	and Pentium III Xeon models) in which the system could incorrectly 
	indicate a thermal violation during POST on the next reboot.
?	Corrected a problem indicating the redundancy of the power subsystem 
	on all models of the Compaq ProLiant 6000, the Compaq ProLiant 6500, 
	and the Compaq ProLiant 7000.  If the system requires three power 
	supplies to be redundant and redundancy was lost due to supply 
	removal or failure, the system would not be marked as redundant 
	after a new supply was inserted or the failed supply was repaired.
?	Corrected a problem with improperly marking a power supply as 
	overloaded when the system is under a heavy processor load on all 
	models of the Compaq ProLiant 6000, Compaq ProLiant 6500, and 
	Compaq ProLiant 7000.
?	Corrected a problem with not marking a power supply as overloaded 
	when the supply?s unit capacity was exceeded without also exceeding 
	the capacity of any of the supply?s voltage channels on all models 
	of the Compaq ProLiant 6000, Compaq ProLiant, and Compaq ProLiant 7000.
?	Corrected a problem in which 14 and 15 character server names would

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain four formatted 1.44 MB diskettes.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
    to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP9670.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded SoftPaq file:
      SP9670 [ENTER]
    and follow the on-screen instructions. The following files will be
    created:
       QRST5.EXE
       277068US._01
       277068US._02
       277068US._03
       277068US._04
       277068US.DOC

4.  Please read 277068US.DOC for instructions on using QRST5 to create
    the diskettes and for the steps to install the software.

5.  After the disks are created, you may delete the downloaded file
    SP9670.EXE and the other files it created from your hard drive if you
    wish.
