SOFTPAQ UTILITY VERSION:  2.x

DESCRIPTION:  Creates a ROMPaq diskette that is used with the Armada 7000 
Series notebook models mentioned above to upgrade the ROM in the integrated 
controller-based modem.  Only the Compaq Flash Utility is updated to support new notebook 
models.

Enhancements in this release:
- Fixed International Docking station operation (pulse shape relay) 


Includes Enhancements/Fixes from previous releases:
- UK non-compliance, Armada 7800 Series/Docking Station, must not detect ring
  for signals less than 100msec.
- France off-hook too restrictive. Fix to suppress leading commas,
  allow multiple commas in dial string following first digit; fix applied
  to Germany, France and Switzerland.
- PageNet paging software causes modem to drop characters and
  corrupt data.
- Swedish delayed dialing - revised dialing delay for Sweden from 60 sec 
  down to 30 sec.
- Digital Line Guard Improvements - Improved DLG algorithm.
- ATDT<CR> works for Switzerland, same fix extended to Germany and
  Austria. 
- ATDT;<CR> will return the modem on-hook based on S7 timer, it applies
  to France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
- Adds support for Armada 7400 Series notebook models named above.
- Adds support for Armada 7800 Series notebook models.
- Improves ETC (Enhanced Throughput Cellular) 
- Improves Speakerphone operation
- Fixes interoperability with Motorola 3262 
- Improves various cellular mode features
- Fixes busy tone detection/qualification for Norway

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. To install, run CPQFLASH.EXE from the created diskette. 
   In Windows 95 or NT4.0, use the task bar to select Start, then Run. 
   In Windows 3.x Program Manager, select File, then Run. 
   In DOS, go to a command prompt.

   Enter:
           A:\CPQFLASH 

   Follow on-screen instructions.
