the IDE CDROM for new installations of Alpha Windows NT 4.0.

DESCRIPTION:  Creates a diskette used to install the Alpha Workstation HAL and 
Microsoft ATAPI IDE CDROM Driver for Windows NT 4.0, which is used in the 
Professional Workstations mentioned above (see PRODUCTS AFFECTED).

This Hardware Support diskette supports installation of the Windows NT V4.0 
operating system on the following list of 21264-based Compaq Alpha systems:

        Compaq AlphaServer DS20
        Compaq AlphaPC 264DP
        Compaq Professional Workstation XP1000

For systems with a Digital KZPSA SCSI controller, use the deckzpsx.sys 
software driver that is included in this kit.

For systems with an IDE CDROM, use the atapi.sys software driver that 
is also included in this kit.  The COMPAQ Professional Workstation XP1000 
uses the atapi.sys.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain one formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that 
directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based 
on the SoftPaq Number above.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the 
on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to insert the formatted diskette 
in a drive to create the diskette.

4. To Install the driver, please refer to README.TXT file included on the 
diskette files. 

5. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file 
downloaded in step 2.
