DESCRIPTION: This release provides updated
system ROM images for the latest maintenance
release of Compaq ProLiant 5500 (P12) server
products.

     ========================================

	 Add fixes for Intel's 450 MHz Pentium II Xeon processor.

	 Add support for 50 nsec EDO memory modules. System timings
	 will be optimized for 50 nsec EDO memory if all installed
	 DIMMs are 50 nsec.





HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
The file that is downloaded is SP9407.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP9407 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to
create diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP9407.EXE if you wish.

5.  Refer to README.TXT on the diskette for instructions on installing and using the
software.
