DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file 
and a large self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting 
executable file contains Compaq Server Support for Microsoft 
Windows NT 4.0 that supports the following subsystems and 
features of Compaq Servers.

The release of the Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows 
NT 4.0 Version 2.12 Revision B, primarily supports the following 
new products: 

- Compaq ProLiant 6400R 500/100 512k 256MB 

- Compaq ProLiant 6400R 500/100 1MB 256MB 

- Compaq ProLiant 6400R 500/100 2MB 1GB 

- Compaq 64-Bit Dual Channel Wide-Ultra2 SCSI Controller


Compaq Cluster Verification Utility-(CCVU.EXE) 

- Added detection capability to the Compaq Cluster Verification 
  Utility to support the cluster-certified Compaq servers that were
  released in 1998.

Compaq Enhanced Integrated Management Display Service-(CPQIMDSVC.EXE)

- Updated the Compaq Enhanced Integrated Management Display Service
  from Version 1.00 to Version 1.01.  This updated version of the
  service operates correctly on systems functioning in low-memory 
  situations.  If you have an earlier version of this service, you
  should upgrade to Version 1.01 to avoid a bluescreen situation in 
  a system that is low on memory. 

Compaq Recovery Server Option-(CPQRSYS.EXE) 

- Added support to the Compaq Recovery Server Options, Compaq On-Line
  Recovery Server and Compaq Standby Recovery Server, for the 
  following controllers:

	- Compaq Smart Array 221 Controller 

	- Compaq Smart Array 3200 Controllers

Compaq SCSI Controller Driver-(CPQ32FS2.SYS) 

- Added support to the Compaq SCSI Controller Driver for the Compaq
  64-Bit Dual Channel Wide-Ultra2 SCSI Controller.

Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-(SETUP.EXE)

- Reorganized the diskette contents for the Compaq SSD for Windows NT 
  to optimize diskette space as follows:

* The following components were moved from diskette 1 to diskette 2:

	- Compaq ProLiant Storage System Driver

	- Compaq SCSI Controller Driver

	- Compaq SCSI Miniport Class DLL

	- Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver

* The following components were moved from diskette 2 to diskette 4:

	- Compaq Advanced Network Control Utility

	- Compaq Netelligent/NetFlex-3 Controller Driver and DLL

	- NIC Miniport Class DLL

* The following components were moved from diskette 2 to diskette 1:

	- Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI Driver

	- Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI WAN Driver

- Modified Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to
  correctly install the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver,
  CPQARRAY.SYS, when the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller is not
  installed during Windows NT 4.0 installation.

- Compaq SSD for Windows NT 4.0 Version 2.12A indicated that the 
  Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver was installed correctly
  when the controller was not installed during Windows NT 4.0 
  installation.  However, the driver was not present in the list of
  drivers via the SCSI Adapters applet in the Windows NT Control 
  Panel, nor was it loaded when the system was rebooted.

Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver-(CPQARRAY.SYS) 

- Added an enhancement to the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller 
  Driver to report fan failures and fan recoveries for fans located on
  any external or internal Compaq storage system.

- Fixed an issue with the Compaq PCI Hot Plug Utility incorrectly
  displaying the description for the Compaq Smart Array 221 Controller
  as "Unknown" if the controller was installed in a hot plug slot when
  the utility was executed.

Compaq System Management Driver-(SYSMGMT.SYS) 

- Updated the Compaq System Management Driver from version 3.15.01 
  to 3.18.02.

- Added support to the Compaq System Management Driver for the 
  following new servers:

	- Compaq ProLiant 6400R 500/100 512k 256MB 

	- Compaq ProLiant 6400R 500/100 1MB 256MB 

	- Compaq ProLiant 6400R 500/100 2MB 1GB 

- Corrected a problem with certain models of the 750/500 Watt Hot Plug
  Redundant Power Supply in which the supply would report the use of
  twice as much power than the actual amount used.  This false report
  would cause the power subsystem to be marked as non-redundant even
  though redundant power was available.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
   to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
   executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
   and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
   The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
   You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
   the files, or default to the download directory.  The following 
   files will be created:
	README.TXT
       	NTSSD.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the 
   self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
   self-extracting executable:
   	NTSSD.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the 
   support software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the
   program SETUP.EXE to install the software.
