DESCRIPTION:  The Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to
upgrade the ROM Firmware images for Compaq System product Options.  The
Options ROMPaq consists of ten (10) diskettes:

	Disk 1 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for the 
		 Compaq SMART-2, SMART ARRAY 3100ES, SMART ARRAY 
		 3200 and SMART ARRAY 221 Controllers

	Disk 2 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 3 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Additional Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 4 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Extra Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

	Disk 5 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for 
		 Supplementary Compaq SCSI Hard Drives

Enhancements/Fixes:
- Added support for stamping M&P data on Compaq hard drives.  This process
  occurs during device discovery and does not require a flash operation.

* NOTE: This operation only works on Compaq SCSI hard drives attached to
	SMART-2, SMART ARRAY 3xxx or 221 Controllers.

- Upgraded SMART Array 3100ES and 3200 Controller firmware from 3.08 to 4.02 to
  add redundant controller support for SMART Array 3100ES.
- Added support for Smart Array 221 Controller. Firmware version 3.22, first 
  shipping version.
- Upgraded Compaq Fibre Array Controller firmware from 1.20 to 1.22 to address
  the following issues:

	- Controller lock-up if there were more than 3 logical volumes present.
	- Fixed hang problem caused by sending various read-type commands but asking
	  that 0 bytes be returned.

- Upgraded DDRS345 and DDRS391 hard drive firmware from S97A to S99C.
- Upgraded HD00441730, HD00431731, HD0094172B, HD0093172C, HC01841729 and HC0183172A
  hard drive firmware from 3207 to 3208.

  NOTE:   Multiple firmware versions exist for these products. This
          ROMpaq utility will identify and upgrade the correct firmware to the
          specific OEM tape hardware product.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain ten (10) formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.

4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. The Options ROMPaq diskettes are self-booting diskettes.  Place each
ROMPaq diskette into your drive A: diskette drive and power cycle your
system to begin updating the appropriate components.
