DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file and a
large self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting executable file 
contains Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51
that supports the following subsystems and features of Compaq Servers:

Enhancements/Fixes:

The release of the Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 
Version 1.34A includes updates to the Compaq Remote Insight Board PCI 
WAN Driver, the Compaq System Management Driver, and the Compaq Server 
Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 program.

Compaq 4/8-GB SLR Tape Driver(TANDQIC.SYS) 
-	Removed the Compaq 4/8-GB SLR Tape Driver files from the Compaq 
	SSD for Windows NT 3.51 release.  These files are available from 
	the Compaq Web site at www.compaq.com as SoftPaq number 5982.

Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver(CPQRIB.SYS) 
-	Updated the Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver version from 1.50 
	to 1.51.  Version 1.51 corrects an issue where the previous version 
	of the Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver would not start on a 
	multiprocessor Compaq ProLiant 3000 or 5500 configured as follows: 
	Compaq Remote Insight Board/EISA and system ROM dated later than 3/98.

Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI WAN Driver(RIBWAN.SYS) 
-	Updated the RIBWAN.INF file to re-enable the Compaq Remote Insight 
	Board/PCI Driver and the Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI WAN Driver 
	after these drivers are installed and removed using Compaq Server 
	Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT then reinstalled through the 
	Windows NT Control Panel using the RIBWAN.INF file.
-	Fixed a Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI WAN routing issue.  In the 
	Compaq Remote Insight Board User Guide, you are asked to perform 
	the "route add A B" command, where A and B are IP addresses.  In 
	previous Compaq SSD for Windows NT 3.51 versions, the packets 
	destined for target A are not routed through the device properly 
	if B is an IP address on one of the Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI 
	WAN endpoints.  Beginning in Compaq SSD for Windows NT 3.51 Version 
	1.34A, the packets destined for IP address A are properly routed 
	through IP address B, which is the Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI 
	WAN device.

Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51(SETUP.EXE) 
-	Changed the path where Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft 
	Windows NT 3.51 searches for the Compaq Array Configuration Utility 
	files on the Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD.  Beginning 
	in Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Version 1.34A, 
	you can install the Compaq Array Configuration Utility not only from 
	the Compaq Array Configuration Utility Diskettes but also from the 
	Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD.  In Compaq Support Software 
	for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Versions 1.30A through 1.32A, only the 
	diskettes can be used to install the Compaq Array Configuration 
	Utility.
-	Added a new popup, indicating the supported version of the Compaq 
	Array Configuration Utility that is supported in this Compaq SSD 
	for Windows NT 3.51 release, which will appear after the option to 
	install the utility has been selected.
-	Removed the capability for Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft 
	Windows NT 3.51 Version 1.34A (or later) to operate on Compaq 
	Professional Workstation products.
-	Modified Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 
	to prompt you to update the Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI WAN Driver 
	after installing RAS to ensure that a registry setting created by the 
	RAS install has the correct value for this driver.  If this driver is 
	not updated after a RAS install is performed, the registry value will 
	be incorrect, disabling the "route add A B" command functionality that 
	was fixed in this release (see the "Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI 
	WAN Driver(RIBWAN.SYS)" entry in this section).
-	Modified Compaq Server Support Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 to 
	create the correct registry information for the NC3122 Fast Ethernet 
	NIC upon an install or an update of the driver.  Compaq Server Support 
	Setup for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Version 1.32A incorrectly creates 
	the registry strings for the Compaq NC3122 Fast Ethernet NIC.  If your 
	system is also configured with a Compaq NetFlex-3 Controller, network 
	errors may occur after reboot. The modifications included in Compaq SSD 
	for Windows NT 3.51 Version 1.34A prevent the network errors from 
	occurring in the following cases:
	-If the Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Controller Driver has 
	 never been installed or updated on your system
	-If your system is not configured with a Compaq NetFlex-3 Controller


Compaq System Management Driver(SYSMGMT.SYS)
-	Updated the Compaq System Management Driver version from 3.12.01 to 
	3.15.01.  Version 3.15.01 of the Compaq System Management Driver 
	corrects the loss of system fan, thermal, power supply, and ECC 
	monitoring that Version 3.12.01 causes on the following systems: 
		Compaq ProLiant 800 6/350
		Compaq ProLiant 1600 (Models 6/350, 6/400, and 6/450-1)
		Compaq ProLiant 1600R (Models 6/400 and 6/450-1)  
-	Removed support for all models of the Compaq Professional Workstation.  
	Full support for the Compaq Professional Workstation series is now 
	available on Compaq Workstation Support Software for Microsoft Windows 
	NT 3.51 Version 1.00 (or later).
-	Corrected the display of erroneous data in the Compaq Insight Manager 
	console.  This invalid data appeared when a 400-Watt Hot Plug Redundant 
	Power Supply Upgrade Kit was installed on the following systems: 
		Compaq ProLiant 1600 6/350-1 
		Compaq ProLiant 1600 6/400-1 
		Compaq ProLiant 1600R 6/400-1.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       NTSSD.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
self-extracting executable:
       NTSSD.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support 
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program 
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
