                   Display adapters icon.  You should see "3D RAGE LT PRO" or 
                   similar listed as the display adapter.

DESCRIPTION:  This is an update for the ATI Rage LT Pro video driver on ONLY 
the specific Presario models mentioned above. 

Known Problems:
 - Older monitors manufactured before 1996 may cause the ATI drivers to 
   detect these monitors as unknown.  If this happens, go into the Windows 
   Control Panel and change the monitor setting to the correct monitor.  
   Otherwise, the resolution will default to 640x480 in 16 colors.
 - Installation fails on Japanese version of Windows 98.

Enhancements/Fixes: 
 - Fixes problem where animated mouse cursors disappear with Microsoft themes
   installed.  This may also occur while viewing web pages using frames when
   animated cursors are turned on.
 - Fixes problem where the Display Properties page is cropped at the bottom.
 - Corrects Fatal Exception error starting Windows when no monitors are in 
   registry.
 - Fixes problem in TV format selection application where hot keys did not 
   work for switching between groups and/or selecting options.

Previous Enhancements/Fixes:
 - Optimized to work with Microsoft's D3D DirectSound.
 - Adds property pages specific to Windows 98.  
   (These will only load under Windows 98.)
 - Adds support for multiple monitors under Windows 98.
 - Adds support for ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface).
 - Resolves Sleep mode issues.
 - Prevents the problem where applications and games designed for the 
   Accelerated Graphics Port (AGP) may not function correctly after 
   the Mediamatics DVD player is played and stopped several times in a row.
 - Added Support for "Direct X" (Direct X Certified).

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq file SP8456.EXE to a directory on your hard drive.

2. Execute SP8456.EXE and follow the on-screen instructions to install and 
configure the driver. 

3. You must restart the PC before the changes take affect.
