DESCRIPTION: Unpacks the files needed to install Windows 3.1 video
drivers for the Matrox Performance, Millennium II, G100, and G200
Video Controller used in the above-referenced Deskpro models.
Optionally allows two driver diskettes to be created.
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, EMPTY directory on your
hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable
with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From the download directory, execute the SoftPaq. When executed
with no parameters, files are extracted into the current directory.
To extract the files into a different directory, specify the complete
path of the directory as a parameter: SPxxxx <path>
Enter "Y" to confirm and files are unpacked into the download
directory or the directory specified. A subdirectory is also
created containing driver files.
3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
4. The driver may be installed directly from the files on the download
directory or driver diskette can be created.
To create a driver diskette, run MAKEDISK.BAT.
To install the driver, run the downloaded file SETUP.EXE.
For example, from Windows Program Manager select File, Run,
then type in the path to the download directory containing the files
extracted in step 2 followed by the command SETUP and press enter:
c:\<path>\disk_01\setup
Or if installing from a created diskette, enter:
a:\disk_01\setup
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
5. When the installation is complete, close Windows and restart Windows
for the new driver to take effect.
