                    In Windows 95/98, select Start, Settings, Control Panel, 
                    then select the System icon, the Device Manager tab, and the 
                    Display adapters icon.  You should see "3D RAGE LT PRO" 
                    listed as the display adapter. 

        IMPORTANT:  Some other Presario models also use ATI Rage LT Pro 
                    Graphics, but have the video support on the system board 
                    rather than on a separate board.  This video ROM is NOT for 
                    those Presario models.

DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates a video ROM update diskette for the
ATI Rage LT Pro Graphics Controller used in Presario models mentioned above.  

Enhancements/Fixes:
 - Corrects an issue where the computer took too long to start up ("long boot")
   when some monitors were attached that are not Plug and Play compatible.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Format a 1.44-MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your
    hard drive and change to that directory.  The file downloaded
    is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the
    SoftPaq Number above.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file.
    You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette
    into a diskette drive to create the ROMPaq diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded
    file if you wish.

5.  Shut down the computer you wish to update, place the ROMPaq diskette 
    into drive A:, and turn on the power, allowing the computer to reboot 
    from the diskette.

6.  Follow the instructions on the screen to continue.

7.  The ROMPaq utility will update the video ROM and notify you when 
    the update is finished.

    DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER'S POWER DURING THIS PROCESS

8.  When the video ROM update is finished, remove the ROMPaq diskette.
    Turn the computer OFF, wait 5 seconds, then turn the computer ON.
    The update will then be in effect.
