DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks the files needed to replace XCDFS.SYS driver 
in the %SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers directory

Enhancements/Fixes:

- Corrects problem where all files selected using XCOPY under WindowsNT 
  may not be processed.
- Allows media in the CD ROM drives in the Compaq CD Storage System to 
  be ejected after being accessed by networking users.  
  Fixed in version 1.2.2a which was released in SP7343.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your 
hard drive.  The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable 
with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Enter "C" to confirm the unpacking of files into the download directory. 

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting file 
downloaded in step 1.

4. The SoftPaq will unpack two files in the download directory:
XCDFS.SYS and SP8049.TXT.  

Rename the file named XCDFS.SYS in the 
%SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers directory to XCDFS.OLD.  

Then, copy the enhanced XCDFS.SYS created from the SoftPaq to 
%SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers directory.


5. The next NT restart will load the enhanced driver, and installation will 
be complete.

6. Verify proper operation of the system.

7. After the driver has been installed, you may delete the files 
from the download directory and XCDFS.OLD if you wish.
