DESCRIPTION: Unpacks the files needed to install the K56flex-to-V.90
Flash Loader, which upgrades the modem firmware to the V.90 standard
on the Compaq Microcom 415 External Fax Modem with Speakerphone.

The FlashCom Flash Loader performs the following:
 1. Detects the modem and reads the current firmware version.
 2. Indicates if the modem is flash-loadable.
CAUTION: Modems other than the Compaq Microcom 415 External
Fax Modem may be accepted, but they will fail the flash load, and
    may become unusable.
 3. The user is then prompted to proceed to update the modem with the
    V.90 firmware.

Known Issues:
 - This V.90 upgrade does not support Analog Simultaneous Voice and
   Data (ASVD) operation, V.61.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for
the files, or default to the download directory.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. To install the K56flex-to-V.90 upgrade, run FLASHCOM.EXE.

5. After a successful installation, you may delete the files unpacked
in step 2 if you wish.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT interrupt the flash process during its 3-4 minute
cycle, or the modem may become unusable. Do not let the modem lose
power or the COM port connection. (Do not attempt the flash during
an electrical storm).
