DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file and a
large self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting executable file 
contains Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
that supports the following subsystems and features of Compaq Servers.

Enhancements/Fixes:

The release of the Compaq Server Support for Microsoft Windows
NT 4.0 Version 2.10 Revision A, primarily supports the following 
new products: Compaq ProLiant 800 1/350, Compaq ProLiant 800 1/400,
Compaq ProLiant 800 1/450, Compaq ProLiant 3000 6/400, Compaq 
ProLiant 3000R 6/400, Compaq ProLiant 3000 6/450, Compaq ProLiant 
3000R 6/450, Compaq ProLiant 6500 6/450, Compaq Prosignia Server 
740, Compaq Prosignia Server 780, Compaq SMART 3200 Array Controller,
and Compaq ProLiant Storage System/UE. This release is the first 
Compaq SSD for Windows NT release to support server-only products.

Compaq Advanced Network Control Utility(NETFLX3.EXE) 
-       Fixed BNC Options that were being configured incorrectly.

-       Added TxIntegrityFrequrcy as a new registry Parameter for
 	non-paired network interface controllers to prevent 
	unnecessary heartbeats.

Compaq Cluster Verification Utility(CCVU.EXE) 
-       Added verbiage to the Close button, warning users that this
	button will close the application after executing.

-       Added a Help button on the Compaq Cluster Verification
	Utility (CCVU) user interface to access the CCVU Help file.

Compaq Enhanced Integrated Management Display Service(CPQIMDSVC.EXE) 
-       Added support for the new Compaq Enhanced Integrated
	Management Display Service, which allows you to view 
	multiple items in the IMD Idle screen of the Compaq 
	Integrated Management Display Utility.

Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Controller Driver(N100NT.SYS) 
-       Added support for the Compaq Fast Ethernet NIC NC3122 to the
	Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Controller Driver.

Compaq Fibre Channel Filter Driver(CPQFCFTR.SYS) 
-       Added enhanced Compaq Insight Manager agent support to the
	Compaq Fibre Channel Filter Driver.

Compaq Fibre Channel Host Controllers SCSI Miniport Driver(CPQFCALM.SYS) 
-       Added support for the Compaq Fibre Channel Tape Controller
	as a supported device connected to a Compaq Fibre Channel 
	Host Controller.

-       Added support to the Compaq Fibre Channel Host Controllers
	SCSI Miniport Driver for long wave Gigabit Interface 
	Converter (GBIC) modules, which allow the use of single 
	mode fiber optic cables.

-       Modified CPQFCALM.INF to copy CQRSCSMN.DLL and set the
	appropriate registry settings.

Compaq Integrated Management Display Utility(CPQLCD.EXE) 
-       Added support to the Compaq Integrated Management Display
	Utility for enhanced idle screen configuration.

Compaq Integrated Management Log Viewer(CPQIMLV.EXE) 
-       Added support to the Compaq Integrated Management Log Viewer
	for maintenance note and "who cleared the IML" entry 
	functionality.  The updated Compaq Integrated Management Log
	Viewer allows you to enter maintenance notes.  In addition, 
	once a user has cleared the IML, the Compaq Integrated 
	Management Log Viewer automatically logs an IML entry, 
	indicating who cleared it.

Compaq Netelligent/NetFlex-3 Controller(NETFLX3.SYS) 
-       Modified OEMSETUP.INF to copy CQRNICMN.DLL and set the
	appropriate registry settings.

Compaq ProLiant Storage System Driver(PRLNTSS.SYS) 
-       Added support to the Compaq ProLiant Storage System Driver
	for the Compaq ProLiant Storage System/UE.  The updated 
	Compaq ProLiant Storage System driver provides support for 
	15 drives and checks alarms for fan, temperature, and Hot 
	Plug events.

Compaq Remote Monitor Service(CPQRCMC.EXE) 
-       Added the ability to the Compaq Remote Monitor Service to
	detect open slots during initialization of the system.  
	Previously, if there was an open slot lever on the system 
	prior to booting, the slot would not be powered up and no 
	warning message would appear.

-       Corrected a problem with the Compaq Remote Monitor Service
	not displaying the proper fail status for multifunction 
	cards.  

Compaq SCSI Controller Driver(CPQ32FS2.SYS) 
-       Added support to the Compaq SCSI Controller Driver for the
	Compaq ProLiant Storage System/UE.

-       Modified the Compaq SCSI Controller Driver to resolve an
	issue with the Seagate BackupExec software failing on a 
	Compaq server configured with the Compaq DLT 35/70-Gigabyte 
	Drive, the Compaq SCSI Controller, and the Compaq SCSI 
	Controller Driver from the Compaq Support Software for 
	Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Versions 2.08A through 2.09B.  
	In the previously mentioned Compaq SSD for Windows NT 
	versions, the Seagate BackupExec software would stop during 
	backup causing the SCSI bus to reset in less than 5 percent 
	of the backups performed which usually involved large files.

-       Modified FASTSCSI.INF to copy CQRSCSMN.DLL and set the
	appropriate registry settings.

Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver(CPQARRAY.SYS) 
-       Updated the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver
	version from 3.24 to 4.00.

-       Added 12-drive support to the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array
	Controller driver for the Compaq SMART Array 3200 Controller.

-       Added 12-drive support and external cabinet support to the
	Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver for the Compaq 
	ProLiant Storage System/UE.

-       Modified the Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver to
	operate in a reduced memory and Disk Dump SCSI port environment.
	The updated Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller Driver 
	allows EISA and PCI Controller Crash Dump functionality to 
	work properly when used in conjunction with Microsoft Hot 
	Fixes for Service Pack 3.  For more information about the 
	Microsoft Hot Fixes for Service Pack 3, resolving the EISA 
	and PCI Controller Crash Dump issue, please refer to Microsoft 
	article "Q173277" located on the Microsoft website at 
	http://www.microsoft.com.

-       Modified CPQARRAY.INF to copy CQRSCSMN.DLL and set the
	appropriate registry settings.

Compaq System Management Driver(SYSMGMT.SYS)
-       Updated the Compaq System Management Driver version from
	3.09.01 to 3.12.01.

-       Added support to the Compaq System Management Driver for
	the following new Compaq servers: Compaq ProLiant 800 1/350,
	Compaq ProLiant 800 1/400, Compaq ProLiant 800 1/450, 
	Compaq ProLiant 3000 6/400, Compaq ProLiant 3000R 6/400, 
	Compaq ProLiant 3000 6/450, Compaq ProLiant 3000R 6/450, 
	Compaq ProLiant 6500 6/450.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       NTSSD.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
self-extracting executable:
       NTSSD.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support 
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program 
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
