DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq is for Japanese products, and cannot be 
run in United States mode.  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description 
file and a large self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting 
executable file contains Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51
that supports the following subsystems and features of Compaq Professional

Enhancements/Fixes:

The release of the Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows 
NT 3.51, Version 1.30 A, primarily supports the following new 
products: the Compaq Professional Workstation AP400, the Compaq 
Professional Workstation AP200.

Adaptec AIC-78xx PCI SCSI Controller
 	Added support for the new Adaptec AIC-78xx PCI SCSI 
        Controller driver, which is only supported on the Compaq 
        Professional Workstation AP200.  For more information on 
        this driver, refer to the section in NTREADME.HLP entitled 
        "Adaptec AIC-78xx PCI SCSI Controller." 

ATI RAGE IIC Graphics Controller
 	Added support for the new ATI RAGE IIC Graphics Controller 
        driver.  The Compaq Professional Workstations and/or Compaq 
        Servers that may use this driver are indicated in the section
        in NTREADME.HLP entitled "Video Support for Compaq Professional
        Workstations and Compaq Servers."

Compaq 4/8-GB SLR Tape Driver
 	Added support for the new Compaq 4/8-GB SLR Tape driver that
        supports the Compaq 4/8-GB SLR Tape Drive.  This driver is 
        an OEM driver from Tandberg Data Inc.  For more information 
        about this new driver, refer to the section in NTREADME.HLP
        entitled "Compaq 4/8-GB SLR Tape Driver Support."

Compaq Netelligent/NetFlex-3 Controller
 	Updated the Compaq Netelligent/NetFlex-3 Controller driver 
	version from 3.24 to 3.26.

Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Network Interface Controller Drivers 
 	Added support for the new Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet 
        Network Interface Controller drivers.  For more information 
        on these controllers, refer to the section in NTREADME.HLP
        entitled "Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Network Interface
        Controllers."

Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI
 	Added support for the new Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI 
        driver version 1.5.  This driver supports both the Compaq 
        Remote Insight Board/PCI and the Compaq Remote Insight Board.
        For more information about this driver, refer to the section
        in NTREADME.HLP entitled "Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI." 

Compaq System Management Driver
 	Updated the Compaq System Management driver version from 
        3.00.01 to 3.06.01.
 	Added support for the following new Compaq workstations:
 	Compaq Professional Workstation AP200, and Compaq Professional 
        Workstation AP400.
 	Corrected a problem on the Compaq ProLiant 800 and the Compaq 
        ProLiant 1600 in which the system would not shut down after 
        the processor fan failed if thermal shutdowns were disabled.  
        This setting can be viewed and set through the Compaq System 
	Configuration Utility as Compaq Automatic Server Recovery 
	(ASR): Thermal shutdown and through the Compaq Insight Manager
        as Recovery: Environment: Degraded action.
 	Corrected a problem on the Compaq ProLiant 800 and the Compaq 
        ProLiant 1600 in which the thermal shutdown setting described 
        above would be set to disabled after a thermal shutdown began.  
        A thermal shutdown is performed after a fan failure or an 
        over-temperature condition.

Diamond Multimedia Fire GL 4000 Graphics Controller
 	Updated the Diamond Multimedia Fire GL 4000 Graphics Controller 
        driver from version 2, 1, 0, 6 to 2, 1, 0, 29.  This updated 
        driver corrects a Softimage problem of the background picture 
        disappearing when zooming into the scene and an ICEM-Surf 
        problem of lower performance when moving the cursor into the 
        window.

ELSA GLoria-Synergy + 3D Graphics Controller
 	Added support for the new ELSA GLoria-Synergy + 3D Graphics 
        Controller's video display driver version 4.32.00.248 for 
        Windows NT 3.51.  This new driver supports both the Synergy 
        PCI and the new Permedia 2A (P2A/P2V) AGP adapter found on 
        the new Compaq Professional Workstation AP400.

For details, refer to NTREADME.HLP in the created support files.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       NTSSD.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
self-extracting executable:
       NTSSD.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support 
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program 
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
