DESCRIPTION:  Creates a bootable diskette for the above mentioned Presario 
1600 Series notebooks to disable DMA for the CD-ROM and Hard Drive.  This 
fixes the problem where the notebook fails to load Windows upon restart when 
the DMA setting for the CD-ROM drive is set to on in the Device Manager. 

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. Shut down and power off the Presario 1600 Series notebook.

6. With the created diskette in drive A, turn on the notebook, allowing it 
to boot from the diskette.  The update program runs automatically.

7. When prompted, remove the diskette and press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart 
the notebook in order for the update to be in effect.
