DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq is for Japanese products, and cannot be run
in United States mode. It creates four diskettes.
The NSSD diskettes contain NetWare and IntranetWare drivers, NetWare
Loadable Modules (NLMs), and support information to optimize the
performance of NetWare and IntranetWare on Compaq servers.
This software enhances the performance of Compaq options such as Compaq
Drive Array controllers, Compaq 32-Bit SCSI-2 controllers, and Compaq
CD-ROM drives.
Enhancements/Fixes:
- CPQNF3.LAN v2.35 has added a new keyword for forcing the adapter
to operate at 100 Mbps in Half Duplex mode. To enable this mode,
place the keyword 100HD on the LOAD command line.
- CPQNF3.LAN v2.35 now disables the Auto-Negotiation process when
the speed and duplex mode is forced by using the 10HD, 10FD, 100FD
or 100HD keywords. This now makes it mandatory to have both sides
of the network link (NIC and Switch) specifically configured for the
operating mode you choose. Some network switches are not
interoperable with the auto-negotiation standard and would sometimes
have difficulty establishing links when using previous versions of
this driver.
- CPQHLTH.NLM v4.00 adds support for the following Compaq ProLiant
servers:
- Compaq ProLiant 800 6/350-1
- Compaq ProLiant 1600 6/350-1
- Compaq ProLiant 1600 6/400-1
- Compaq ProLiant 1600R 6/400-1
- CPQONLIN.NLM v2.12 corrects the display of the logical drive
rebuild/expand status when the chassis name on a Fibre Channel
controller is more than 18 characters long.
- CPQSBD.NLM v2.01 has been updated to correct the "Module did not
release X resources" message after adding some PCI adapters.
- CPQFC.HAM v1.01 has been updated to disallow sharing interrupts
between the Fibre Channel host adapter and the SMART-2, or other,
primary controller(s).
- CPQS710.DSK v2.14 corrects a speed negotiation issue for the
CPQSCD.DSK or CPQSTAPE.DSK drivers.
- CPQSCSI.HAM v1.20 adds support for faulting CD-ROM devices.
- CPQSMP.PSM v2.21 has been updated to prevent lost hardware
interrupts on systems with Intel Pentium-II processors.
The readme files for NSSD are available as a WINHELP file, located
on diskette #2. The WHATSNEW.RDM file, found on diskette #2, contains
detailed information about the updates, new features, and fixes in
this version. Refer to the WHATSNEW.RDM file for specific driver names
and version numbers.
HOW TO USE
1. Obtain five(5) formatted 1.44 MB diskettes.
2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. You will be prompted to
insert the formatted diskettes in a drive to create the diskettes.
4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.
5. For installation instructions, refer to READ1ST.RDM and WHATSNEW.RDM
on the created diskettes.
