DESCRIPTION:  Creates the files needed to install the ESS 1869 Audio driver for 
Windows 95 for the Deskpro EN and EP Series models using the ESS 1869 audio controller. 
Optionally creates an installation diskette.

Support added for Deskpro EP series.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
   The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
   based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From the download directory, execute the SoftPaq.  When executed 
   with no parameters, files are extracted into the current directory.
   To extract the files into a different directory, specify the complete 
   path of the directory as a parameter:

         SPxxxx <path> 

   Enter "Y" to confirm and files are unpacked into the download 
   directory or the directory specified.  

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
   self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.


4. The driver may be installed directly from the files on the download 
   directory or a driver diskette can be created.  

   To create a driver diskette, run MAKEDISK.BAT.

   To upgrade the driver:
      Open Control Panel
      Double click on SYSTEM icon.
      Click on the DEVICE MANAGER tab.
      Expand Sound,Video and Game Controller device.
      Double click on ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDriver
      Click on the DRIVER tab and click on the UPDATE DRIVER button and
      follow the prompts on the screen.

5. After the driver has been installed, you may delete the files 
   from the download directory if you wish.
