DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file and a
large self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting executable file 
contains Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

Enhancements/Fixes:

The release of the Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT
4.0, Version 2.08 Revision A, primarily supports the following new 
products: the Compaq ProLiant 1850R, the Compaq ProLiant 6000 400-512K
Model 1-128, the Compaq ProLiant 6000 400-1024K Model 2S-256, the 
Compaq ProLiant 7000 400-1024K Model 1S-256, and the Compaq 
Professional Workstation AP200.  

Adaptec AIC-78xx PCI SCSI Controller(AIC78XX.SYS)
?	Added support for the new Adaptec AIC-78xx PCI SCSI Controller
        driver, which is only supported on the Compaq Professional 
	Workstation AP200.  For more information on this driver, refer
	to the section entitled Adaptec AIC-78xx PCI SCSI Controller. 

ATI RAGE IIC Graphics Controller(ATI.SYS)
?	Added support for the new ATI RAGE IIC Graphics Controller 
	driver.  The Compaq Professional Workstations and/or Compaq 
	Servers that may use this driver are indicated in the section 
	entitled Video Support for Compaq Professional Workstations 
	and Compaq Servers.

Compaq Array Configuration Utility(CPQACU.EXE)
?	Added support for the Compaq Array Configuration Utility 
	version 2.00, which is supported only in Windows NT 4.0.  
	Previous versions of this utility are not supported in this 
	release.  For more information about the new features and 
	restrictions of this utility, refer to the section entitled 
	Compaq Array Configuration Utility Support. 

Compaq ATAPI/IDE Controller(CPQATAPI.SYS)
?	Added support for the new Compaq ATAPI/IDE Controller driver 
	version 2.21.1, which is only supported on the Compaq 
	Professional Workstation AP200.  For more information about 
	this driver, refer to the section entitled Compaq ATAPI/IDE 
	Controller.

Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Network Interface Controller Drivers
        (N100NT.SYS)
?	Added support for Compaq Fast Ethernet NIC NC3120.  For more 
        information on this controller, refer to the section entitled 
	Compaq Ethernet or Fast Ethernet Network Interface Controllers.

Compaq Netelligent/NetFlex-3 Controller(NETFLX3.SYS)
?	Updated the Compaq Netelligent/NetFlex-3 Controller driver 
	from Version 4.25 to 4.26 to support the Compaq ProLiant 6000 
	400-512K Model 1-128, the Compaq ProLiant 6000 400-1024K 
	Model 2S-256, and the Compaq ProLiant 7000 400-1024K Model 
	1S-256.

Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI(CPQRIB.SYS)
?	Added support for the new Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI 
	driver version 1.5.  This driver supports both the Compaq 
	Remote Insight Board/PCI and the Compaq Remote Insight Board.  
	For more information about this driver, refer to the section
	entitled Compaq Remote Insight Board/PCI. 

Compaq SMART/SMART-2 Array Controller(CPQARRAY.SYS)
?	Added support for the Compaq SMART Array 3100ES Controller.  
	The Compaq SMART Array 3100ES Controller is a four-channel 
	Wide-Ultra SCSI-3 Drive Array Controller with 32-bit PCI 
	system interface and I2O support for high-end servers. 
?	Corrected a problem with the Compaq Online Storage Controller 
	Recovery Utility incorrectly indicating a cable check status 
	on one of the Compaq SMART-2 Array Controllers configured as 
	part of a dual channel controller pair.

Compaq System Management Driver(SYSMGMT.SYS)
?	Updated the Compaq System Management driver version from 
	3.03.01 to 3.06.01.
?	Added support for the following new Compaq servers and 
	workstation:  
	Compaq ProLiant 1850R, Compaq ProLiant 6000 400-512K Model 
	1-128, Compaq ProLiant 6000 400-1024K Model 2S-256, Compaq 
	ProLiant 7000 400-1024K Model 1S-256, and Compaq Professional 
	Workstation AP200.
?	Added support for logging Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI) and 
	Windows	NT bugcheck data to the Windows NT Event Viewer.
?	Corrected a problem on the Compaq ProLiant 800 and the Compaq
	ProLiant 1600 in which the system would not shut down after 
	the processor fan failed if thermal shutdowns were disabled.  
	This setting can be viewed and set through the Compaq System 
	Configuration Utility as Compaq	Automatic Server Recovery (ASR): 
	Thermal shutdown and through the Compaq Insight Manager as 
	Recovery: Environment: Degraded action.
?	Corrected a problem on the Compaq ProLiant 800 and the Compaq 
	ProLiant 1600 in which the thermal shutdown setting described 
	above would be set to disabled after a thermal shutdown began.   
	A thermal shutdown is performed after a fan failure or an 
	over-temperature condition.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       NTSSD.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
self-extracting executable:
       NTSSD.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support 
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program 
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
