SOFTPAQ UTILITY VERSION:  2.x

DESCRIPTION:  Creates a ROMPaq diskette that is used with the Armada 7000 Series
notebook models mentioned above to upgrade the ROM in the integrated modem.
The modem firmware is the same as in the superseded SoftPaq SP5846.  Only 
the Compaq Flash Utility is updated to support new notebook models.

Enhancements in this release:
- Adds support for Armada 7800 Series notebook models named above.

Enhancements/Fixes in this release and in previous release:
- Improves ETC (Enhanced Throughput Cellular) 
- Improves Speakerphone operation
- Fixes interoperability with Motorola 3262 
- Improves various cellular mode features
- Fixes busy tone detection/qualification for Norway

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. To install, run CPQFLASH.EXE from the created diskette. 
   In Windows 95, use the task bar to select Start, then Run. 
   In Windows 3.x Program Manager, select File, then Run. 
   In DOS, go to a command prompt.

   Enter:
           A:\CPQFLASH 

   Follow on-screen instructions.
