PREREQUISITE: This SoftPaq requires that you have a Compaq Insight Manager

to any other versions.

DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq unpacks files needed to upgrade the Database
Conversion Utility of a registered copy of Compaq Insight Manager Version 3.20
through 3.60. The upgrade allows the Database Conversion Utility to be run from
a command prompt (DOS command prompt, Windows Run utility, or a batch file).

To run the Database Conversion Utility from a command prompt, type the path
and file name of the Database Conversion Utility (DBCVT.EXE) along with two
optional parameters:
                     - "silent overwrite" switch
                     - destination directory

The usage syntax is as follows:

                     <path>\DBCVT [-o] [destination directory]

                     [-o] silent overwrite switch
If this switch is used, any converted tables in the
specified directory will be overwritten WITHOUT a
                          warning message box.

                     [destination directory]
This must exist prior to running the Database Conversion
Utility. If there are spaces in the path, enclose the path
in double quotes (example: "c:\program files\temp").

NOTE: The Database Conversion Utility is located in the Insight Manager directory.
If you run the Database Conversion Utlity from a command line in Windows 95, you
may have to specify the entire path of the utility.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to the folder into which you installed Compaq Insight
Manager. This folder could be "C:\Program Files\Compaq\Insight Manager."
The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and folder, execute the downloaded file and follow the
on-screen instructions to unpack the files. The number of files to be created
and total file size is displayed. The files are:
    SP6432.TXT
    PATCH.BAT
    PATCH.BIN

3. Execute the PATCH.BAT command file from the Compaq Insight Manager folder.
The file DBCVT.EXE is renamed to DBCVT.TMP, and the updated file is copied
into its place.

4. After the upgrade is complete, you may delete the self-extracting file
downloaded in step 1, as well as the unpacked files from step 2.
