DESCRIPTION:  Creates the files needed to install SMART Client support for
Compaq desktop systems that support Intelligent Manageability and Proactive
Tape Backup.  Requires Compaq Insight Management Desktop Agents to be
installed on the desktop system.  Intelligent Manageability features monitor the
health of the SMART hard drive and generate an alert notification for the backup    
application if an impending disk failure is detected.  Seagate's Backup Exec
product, either Backup Exec for Windows NT, or Backup Exec for NetWare is
required.  The backup may be targeted at a local tape drive, PowerDrive CD
(PD/CD) device, or a Netware or NT Server.

Fixes/Enhancements:

 - With Backup Exec Version 7, backup can now be performed using TCP/IP rather than 
   NetBEUI as was required in the previous version. 

 - Allows Backup Exec SMART Client to show whole dialog on 640x480 window in Japanese.

 - Fixes problem where the Cancel button of Backup Exec SMART Client is not translated.

 - Resolves the following error message when installing Smart Client:
   "Configuration Manager: The specified device instance handle does not correspond 
    to a present device."

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is
a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Entering
"Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory folder in the
download directory. All files are unpacked into this newly created directory.

3. After the directory has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file
downloaded in step 1.

4. To install, execute the file SETUP.EXE created above and follow the on-screen
instructions.

5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory created in step
2 if you wish.

6. To perform a backup to a PD/CD device, you will need to install the Arcada
Optical Tape Emulation Driver for NT, Softpaq SP3797.

7. The SMART Client must be activated from the Control Panel before the
proactive backup will work.
