DESCRIPTION:  Creates a bootable ROMPaq diskette to upgrade the System ROM 
on the Presario 4212ES educational model only.

This System ROM upgrade resolves slow packet transfers over a network
using an ISA Network Interface Card (NIC), such as the Compaq NIC shipped 
with the Presario 4212ES.  The symptoms are that the network response is very 
slow and the server eventually disconnects the computer from the network.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. With the created diskette in drive A:, restart the computer, allowing it 
to boot from the diskette.  Follow on-screen instructions to complete the 
System ROM upgrade.

6. After the upgrade has completed, shut down the computer and turn it off.  
The new changes will be in effect when the computer is restarted.
