DESCRIPTION:
Creates the Support Software for Novell Products (NSSD). NSSD contains
NetWare and intraNetWare drivers, NetWare Loadable Modules (NLMs), and
support information to optimize the performance of NetWare and intraNetWare
on Compaq servers. This software enhances the performance of Compaq options
such as Compaq Drive Array controllers, Compaq 32-Bit SCSI-2 controllers, and
Compaq CD-ROM drives.

Enhancements/Fixes in Version 5.30 Rev A:

This release of the Support Software for Novell Products (NSSD) primarily
supports the following new products:

   - Compaq ProLiant CL1850
   - Compaq 66MHz/64bit Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter

The following Compaq drivers were updated:

   ADPT160M.HAM v.10.00 - NSSD 5.30
   - Created the Compaq 66MHz/64bit Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI
Adapter Driver to support the new Compaq 66MHz/64bit Dual
      Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter.

   CPQFC.HAM v.2.10 - NSSD 5.30A
   - Fixed multi-initiator issues where multiple servers going
down or coming up at approximately the same time, which caused
other servers to decide that the fibre channel loop was unstable
      and perform unneccessary path failovers.
   - Fixed a potential problem on Enterprise Backup Systems. If the driver
determined that the loop being used by servers to share a library(s)
was unstable, the driver would take host adapter lasers offline and
backup applications would lose access to the libraries.
   - Fixed a recognition problem in the driver. Previous versions of the
driver did not recognize that a FCTC bridge had been powered back on
after a power down, so the driver was not notifying the Compaq Insight
Management Agents that the bridge was powered on.
   - Modified the driver to avoid potential device deactivations during a
Compaq StorageWorks RA4000 Redundant RAID Array 4000 Controller hot-swap
in a Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4100 Array Kit.

   CPQSCSI.HAM v.1.38 - NSSD 5.30A
   - Added support for the following:
     * Compaq ProLiant CL1850
     * Compaq StorageWorks Library Adapter
   - Fixed potential problems when transitioning from Real Mode to
Protected Mode, preventing interrupt storms, system hangs, etc.
     from occurring during this transition.

   CPQONLIN.NLM v. 2.42 - NSSD 5.30A
   - Fixed a bug that would not prevent the user from attempting to
create a new logical drive when a failed drive was present in
      the array.
   - Fixed a bug that did not allow migration or expansion priorities
to be set on a Compaq Integrated Smart Array Controller.

   CPQARRAY.HAM v.2.05 - NSSD 5.30A
   - Added background task shutdowns on unload of the driver instance.
   - Modified the driver to fix a bug where board lockups could cause
      inability to fail over twice.
   - Updated the deactivate routine to switch option ROM on deactivate
as well as on shutdown; lockup on a boot pair could cause a real-mode
interrupt to appear to hang (timeout of 5 minutes).

The following Novell drivers were also updated:

   - Ethernet Support ETHERTSM.NLM v.3.80
   - Hot Plug Utility NCMCON.NLM v.116
   - Media Support MSM.NLM v.3.95
   - Media Support MSM31X.NLM v.3.95
   - Novell Configuration Manager	NCM.NLM v.1.10
   - NWPA Support NWPA.NLM v.2.35
   - SFT-III MS Engine NWPA Support	NWPAMS.NLM v.2.35
   - Token-Ring Support TOKENTSM.NLM v.3.77

HOW TO USE:

 1. Download the SoftPaq into a directory and change to that
directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. The following files will be
    in that directory:
      127755US._01
      127755US._02
      127755US._03
      127755US._04
      127755US._05
      127755US._06
      127755US._07
      qrst5.exe

 3. Type QRST5 to run the diskette builder program. You will have the option
of creating all NSSD diskettes or selecting individual diskettes to
create. Once you make a selection, you will be prompted to insert
    diskettes accordingly.

 4. After the diskettes have been created, you may delete the downloaded
SoftPaq file and the other files created in step 2.

 5. For installation instructions, refer to INSTALL.RDM (ASCII text file)
of NSSD.HLP (Windows Help file) on diskette 2.
