HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and 
change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is 
SP6056.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP6056 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
SW010001.BIN
README.TXT

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded 
file SP6056.EXE if you wish.

DOWNLOAD USING CONSOLE INTERFACE AND XMODEM

Use the Download Software menu to load firmware updates into
the switch.  Use the download file SW010001.BIN.  After
downloading the new software, the switch automatically resets.

1. Select the Download Software from the main menu

2. Select "Start XMODEM Download"

3. Wait until the switch outputs the following message to the 
   VT100 terminal "Please start XMODEM (XMODEM/CRC) transfer."

4. Using the VT100 terminal emulation software, send the download
   file utilizing the XMODEM protocol.

DOWNLOAD USING CONSOLE INTERFACE AND COMPAQ NETWORKING MANAGEMENT
SOFTWARE TFTP SERVER 

1.  Copy the SW010001.BIN file into the Compaq Netelligent 
Management Software root directory (usually Program Files\Compaq Networking).

2.  Start Compaq Networking Management Software. 

    Go to the Network menu.
    Go to the TFTP server submenu and select enabled.

Use the Download Software menu to load firmware updates into
the switch.  Use the download file SW010001.BIN.  The 
success of the download operation depends on the accessibility
of the TFTP server and the quality of the network connection.  
After downloading the new software, the switch automatically resets.

1. Select the Download Software from the main menu

2. Set "TFTP Server IP Address" to the IP address of a TFTP 
server, such as a computer running Compaq Netelligent Management 
Software, and set "TFTP File Name" to SW010001.BIN. 

3.  Select "Start TFTP Download" to start TFTP process.
