DESCRIPTION:
Unpacks the files needed to create a bootable Compaq Server
Diagnostics diskette, which supports ALL currently shipping Systems Division
server products. It is installed on the Diagnostics Partition for those
systems which support it and have hard drives. It is shipped as a
diskette on all other products.
A Compaq Server Diagnostics diskette contains programs that can perform the
following tasks on Compaq Systems Division server products:
- TEST
- INSPECT (display machine config)
Enhancements/fixes:
- Added support for the Pentium II Xeon models of the Compaq
ProLiant 6000 and 7000 servers.
- Added support for ProLiant 5500, ProLiant 1850R.
- Added support for Remote Insight Board/PCI
- Added support for Compaq SMART Array 3100ES Controller.
- Fixed incorrect network speed reporting issue on some Token
Ring controllers.
- Fixed CPU ID reporting FFFFh on some systems.
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory
folder in the download directory. All files are unpacked into this
newly created directory.
3. To create the Diagnostics diskette, run MAKEDISK.BAT and
follow on-screen instructions.
3. After the Diagnostic diskette has been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1, as well as the directory
folder and files created in step 2.
4. Power down the system.
5. Place the newly created Diagnostics diskette in Drive A:, and
power up the system.
