SOFTPAQ UTILITY VERSION: 2.X
SUPERSEDES: SP3893
DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq unpacks the files required to install
and configure UPS Support for Standby Recovery Service. This service is
used in conjunction with the Standby Recovery Server Option. It's purpose
is to correct an issue which may occur during a failover to the Standby
Server that can cause a duplicate TCP/IP address and/or a duplicate
Computer Name.
Enhancements/Fixes:
- This version corrects a problem with Version 1.00 in superseded
SoftPaq SP3893, which has been removed from the online services
and should not be used. Version 1.00 incorrectly updates a ROM
location on the Multi-Server UPS Option Card, causing the load
segment connection ports to be mapped incorrectly, which could
cause the UPS to shut off power to a server before Windows NT
has properly shut down. Version 1.03 in this SoftPaq remaps the
load segment connection ports correctly.
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to an empty directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for
the files, or default to the download directory.
3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
The following files will be extracted:
UpsRSys.Exe
Readme.txt
UpsSetup.exe
UpsSetup.ini
UpsCfg.exe
UpsCfg.cpl
UPSRSYS.HLP
4. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
5. Refer to README.TXT for instructions on installing and using the software.
