DESCRIPTION:  The Options ROMPaq diskette allows a user to
upgrade the ROM Firmware images for Compaq System product Options.  The
Options ROMPaq consists of one (1) diskette:
Disk 1 - Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for the Compaq SMART
         and SMART-2 SCSI Array Controllers

Enhancements/Fixes:

  Upgraded SMART-2 Controller firmware from Version 2.02 to 2.08 to correct
  the following potential issues:

	- Fixed reset problem causing substantial delay when loading NT
	- Fixed a poteintial problem with the Write Cache when the controller
	  is installed in a hot plug slot and power to the server is lost.
	- Fixed an intermittant problem when moving dives in one array to another
	  controller.  Would sometimes get a 1785 error on POST  

NOTE:   Firmware below preceded by an "*" is not included in the .INF
        files due to space limitations in the systems partition.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain one (1) formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert a formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. The Options ROMPaq diskette is a self-booting diskette.  Place the
ROMPaq diskette into your drive A: diskette drive and power cycle your
system to begin updating the appropriate components.
