DESCRIPTION:  Upgrades the firmware to Version 1.11 in a Compaq SpeedPaq 336 
Telephony Modem or Compaq Global 336 Telephony Modem.  Both modems are PC Card 
Type II modems designed to provide advanced telephony and cellular connectivity 
to Compaq notebooks and other manufacturers' notebooks that support PCMCIA.

This ROM version is the same firmware that has been included in these modems 
since mid-September, 1997.  It is provided in this SoftPaq as a service to 
customers who need to re-flash their modem ROM.

Enhancements/Fixes:

 - Performance improvement for cellular phones
 - Other minor fixes 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. Insert the created diskette in drive A:.  From Windows 95, select
Start, Run, and enter A:\CPQFLASH.
