DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file and a
large self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting executable file 
contains Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

The release of the Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, 
Version 2.05 Revision A, primarily supports the Compaq Fibre Channel
Storage System Drivers.

Compaq Fibre Channel Storage System
 - Compaq Fibre Channel Host Controllers SCSI Driver (CPQFCALM.SYS)
    Added support for the new Compaq Fibre Channel Host Controllers.
 - Compaq Fibre Channel Array Controllers SCSI Class Driver (CPQFCAC.SYS)
    Added support for the new Compaq Fibre Channel Array Controllers.

Compaq Integrated Management Log Viewer (CPQIMLV.EXE)
 - Added machine name/filename to the printed output.
 - Changed the initial sort order.  In SSD 2.04A, the events were sorted 
    by Initial Time, most recent entries first.  Beginning with SSD 2.05A, 
    the events are sorted by Update Time, most recent entries first.
 - Added ALT key support for Machine (ALT-M), Browse (ALT-B), and 
    Refresh (ALT-R) on the remote dialog bar.

Compaq NetFlex-3 Controller (NETFLX3.SYS)
 - Updated the Compaq NetFlex-3 driver to disable autonegotiation in 
    the Physical Layer (PHY) when both speed and duplex are set, thus 
    enhancing network connections.

Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver (CPQRIB.SYS)
 - Updated the Compaq Remote Insight Board driver version number from 
    1.22 to 1.23.  This updated driver includes a fix for a random 
    problem that prevented all of the system events from being copied 
    to the Compaq Remote Insight Board.

Compaq Remote Insight Board WAN Driver (RIBWAN.SYS)
 - Modified the OEMSETUP.INF file to perform a check to determine if 
    a Service Pack needs to be reapplied to the system after RAS is 
    installed.  This check is performed because the files taken from 
    the original Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 media during RAS install 
    may not be the same as the files previously applied on the system 
    from the Service Pack media.

Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT Setup (SETUP.EXE)
 - Modified the SETUP.EXE file to perform a check to determine if a 
    Service Pack needs to be reapplied to the system after RAS is 
    installed.  This check is performed because the files taken from 
    the original Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 media during RAS install may 
    not be the same as the files previously applied on the system from 
    the Service Pack media.

Compaq System Management Driver (SYSMGMT.SYS)
 - Updated the Compaq System Management driver version from 2.57.01 to 2.58.01.
 - Added a Compaq System Management driver fix.  To ensure continued proper
    operation of the Compaq System Management driver on Compaq Pentium-based  
    systems, such as the Compaq ProLiant 1500, 2000, 4000, and 4500 and the
    Compaq ProSignia 200, 300, and 500, configured with Microsoft Service
    Packs, version 2.58.01 or later of the Compaq System Management driver is
    required.
 - Added a Compaq System Management fix that prevents a fatal system crash from
    occurring when a shutdown/reboot is performed after using SSD Setup on a
    Compaq ProLiant 2500 system with an Intel Network Interface Controller
    installed.  After the SSD installation completed and Setup exited, a fatal
    system crash occurred (blue screen) during an attempted shutdown/reboot.
    When the system was subsequently manually rebooted, the system restarted 
    without any problems.

Compaq Shutdown Script for Windows NT (CPQSHUT.CMD)
 - Added support for a script to be executed at system shutdown, so that user
    applications like database management systems can be terminated gracefully.
    For more information on this additional feature, refer to the section
    entitled Compaq Power Down Manager.


HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       NTSSD.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
self-extracting executable:
       NTSSD.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support 
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program 
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
