DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks over 10 MB of files needed to install the 
Netelligent Management Software Foundation Module, Version 2.0.1.  
This module provides the core functionality for Netelligent Management 
Software, including the Netelligent 8500.

Support for other Netelligent products can be added by downloading
PMMs (Product Management Modules).  Currently supported products
include the following:
  
  Netelligent 2008 and 2016 Repeaters
  Netelligent 2524 and 2624 Repeaters
  Netelligent 3024 and 3124 Repeaters
  Netelligent 3512 and 3612 Repeaters
  Netelligent 5000, 5006, and 5012 Switches
  Netelligent 5606 Switch
  Microcom 808 Integrated Access Device

SoftPaqs available for the above PMMs each contain a portion of the Compaq 
Netelligent Management Software Version 2.0.1 CD-ROM, Part Number 185743-012.

Compaq Netelligent Management Software is a flexible, SNMP-based
network management tool that helps Netelligent customers control their 
networks.  Compaq Netelligent Management Software provides fault 
detection, performance monitoring, and configuration support for all 
manageable Compaq Netelligent repeaters, switches, and routers.  
Compaq Netelligent Management Software also includes a MIB browser, 
which provides access to third-party supported MIBs, allowing 
management of all SNMP manageable devices.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an 11.5 MB self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
It unpacks 2 files: 
   SETUP.EXE
   README.TXT 
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. Refer to README.TXT for additional details on installing and 
using the software.  The installed Netelligent software requires a 
total of 32 MB hard drive space. (The installation process  requires 
more disk space than the final installation; this space is freed when 
the installation is complete).   

5. Run SETUP.EXE and follow the on-screen instructions.

6. After the installation has completed successfully, you may 
delete the SETUP.EXE file.
