Enhancements/Fixes:

For details, refer to NTREADME.HLP in the created support files.

This release of the Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51,
Version 1.27 A, primarily supports the following updated drivers: Compaq
System Management Driver, Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver, and Compaq
   NetFlex-3 Controller.

Compaq MP HAL (HALSP.DLL)
Fixed a problem with the year 2000 if the OS is running during transition.

Compaq NetFlex-3 Controller
Updated the Compaq NetFlex-3 driver to disable autonegotiation in the
Physical Layer (PHY) when both speed and duplex are set, thus enhancing
   network connections.

Compaq Online Recovery Server (CPQRSYS.EXE)
Corrected a problem where the check disk process would hang until a timeout
occurred when using PCI controllers and Microsoft Windows NT with Service
   Pack 3 included.

Added an option, allowing modification of the time for a checkdisk timeout
to less than the default time of 30 minutes.

Added the ability to display the drive letters acquired when you are not
   using a CPQRSYS.RSO file.

Corrected a problem when using the Compaq SMART-2SL Array Controller. An
event log message would inform you that a reset command to the array
controller failed on a non-existent bus.

Added a notification to the Compaq Insight Manager (CIM) when no new
physical drives were found after a failover.

Corrected a random problem where the event log would fill-up with entries
upon launching the Compaq Recovery Server Service.

Compaq Standby Recovery Server
Modified the Compaq Standby Recovery Server to allow a graceful shutdown
when running the Compaq Remote Monitor Service for Compaq PCI Hot Plug
   support.

Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver
Added a fix to keep the event logs in sync with the event logs on the
   machine.

Added a fix for a random problem that prevented all of the system events
from being copied to the Compaq Remote Insight Board.

Compaq Support Software Setup Utility
Updated the Setup application to display the new SSD version number.

Compaq System Management Driver
Updated the System Management driver version number from 2.55.01 to 2.57.01.

Improved logging of non-correctable memory events on the Compaq ProLiant
6000, 6500, and 7000. The driver will now report a list of memory module
   numbers.

Corrected a problem with correctable memory error messages in the Windows NT
   Event Viewer.

Corrected a problem with marking entries in the Critical Error Log as
   "corrected" via Compaq Insight Manager.

Corrected a problem with marking 750/500 Watt Hot Plug Redundant Power
Supplies as "redundant" and with showing redundant status within the
Integrated Management Log and the Windows NT Event Viewer on the Compaq
   ProLiant 6000, 6500, and 7000.

Corrected a problem with reporting the model number of certain revisions of
the 750/500 Watt Hot Plug Redundant Power Supply on the Compaq ProLiant
   6000, 6500, and 7000.

Corrected the following problems with the 400 Watt Hot Plug Redundant Power
Supply on the Compaq ProLiant 1200, 1600, and 2500:
Failure of a single supply no longer causes an improper system shutdown
        five to thirty minutes later.

Improper marking of the power subsystem as redundant no longer occurs
after a supply has been removed.

System fan failures are no longer reported as power supply failures
(allowing automatic system shutdown due to the fan failure to correctly
	occur).

Corrected a problem on Compaq Professional Workstations configured with the
Compaq System Management driver in which applications that cause a floating
point exception could cause the Workstation to hang. A ROM upgrade is
required to fully correct the problem; upgrade the system ROM to any
   version dated 12/17/97 or later.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       SRVR.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the
self-extracting executable:
       SRVR.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
