DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq creates two files -- a description file and a
self-extracting executable file.  The self-extracting executable file 
contains Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

The release of the Compaq Support Software for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, 
Version 2.04 Revision A, primarily supplies the new Logitech MouseWare 
software, the ELSA GLoria-Synergy video driver, the Compaq Integrated 
Management Log Viewer, and the Compaq Power Supply Viewer.

Compaq System Management Driver
  Updated the System Management driver version number from 2.55.01 to 2.57.01.

  Improved logging of non-correctable memory events on the Compaq ProLiant 
  6000, 6500, and 7000. A system ROM upgrade is required to properly display
  this information through the Compaq Integrated Management Display.

  Corrected a problem with enabling Compaq Automatic Server Recovery (ASR) 
  via Compaq Insight Manager.

  Corrected a problem with correctable memory error messages in the Windows 
  NT Event Viewer.

  Corrected a problem with marking entries in the Critical Error Log as 
  "corrected" via the Compaq Insight Manager.

  Corrected a problem with marking Compaq Hot Plug Redundant Power Supplies as 
  "redundant" and with showing redundant status within the Integrated 
  Management Log and the Windows NT Event Viewer on the Compaq ProLiant 6000, 
  6500, and 7000

  Corrected a problem with reporting voltage channel failures on the Compaq 
  Hot Plug Redundant Power Supplies used in the Compaq ProLiant 6000, 6500, 
  and 7000, if the supplies were in a redundant configuration.

  Corrected a problem with improperly marking a set of Compaq Hot Plug 
  Redundant Power Supplies as "redundant" on the Compaq ProLiant 1200, 
  1600, and 2500.

  Corrected a resource conflict between the Compaq System Management driver 
  and the Compaq Netelligent 4/16 TR PCI UTP/STP Controller driver.

ELSA GLoria-L Video Driver
  Added support for an updated ELSA GLoria-L video driver.  This driver 
  contains improved buffer management for enhanced performance in OpenGL 
  applications.  A fix was also included in the GLoria display driver to 
  prevent it from causing an erroneous SCSI error message to appear in the 
  NT Event Log.  The Compaq Professional Workstations that may use this driver 
  are indicated in the section entitled Video Support for Compaq Professional 
  Workstations in NTREADME.HLP.

ELSA GLoria-Synergy Video Driver
  Added support for the new ELSA GLoria-Synergy video display driver for 
  Windows NT 4.0.  The Compaq Professional Workstations that may use this 
  driver are indicated in the section entitled Video Support for Compaq 
  Professional Workstations in NTREADME.HLP.

ELSA GLoria-XL Video Driver
  Added support for an updated ELSA GLoria-XL video driver.  A fix was 
  included in the GLoria display driver to prevent it from causing an 
  erroneous SCSI error message to appear in the NT Event Log.  The Compaq 
  Professional Workstations that may use this driver are indicated in the 
  section entitled Video Support for Compaq Professional Workstations in
  NTREADME.HLP.

Logitech MouseWare Software
  Added support for the new Logitech MouseWare software.  This software 
  allows you to program each mouse button on a 3- or 4-button mouse.  
  Logitech MouseWare software is available on the Compaq SmartStart for 
  Workstations CD v1.30 or later.

STB Systems MVP Workstation Display Controller
  Added an updated STB Systems MVP Display Controller that is supported 
  on the Compaq Professional Workstation 6000 and 8000.


HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
       README.TXT
       WKST.EXE

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the 
self-extracting executable:
       WKST.EXE [ENTER]

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support 
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program 
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
