DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks the files required to install the firmware and GUI 
(Graphical User Interface) software for the Compaq Microcom 808, an ISDN 
remote access device with built-in Ethernet hub.  The files are:

HSR11L03.BIN - Firmware Version 1.1 for S/T hardware, Build 103
HUR11L03.BIN - Firmware Version 1.1 for  U  hardware, Build 103
GUI.EXE      - GUI Version 1.1 for Microsoft Windows NT/Windows 95, Build 104
GUI31.EXE    - GUI Version 1.1 for Microsoft Windows 3.1, Build 104
README.TXT   - Installation instructions

*** NOTE: both GUI and firmware must be upgraded.

The Compaq 808 Firmware has the following fixes:

1. The firmware now has support for EuroISDN Homologation code.
2. A 21 second packet jam on power-up or reboot. 

The Compaq 808 GUI has the following fixes:

1. The GUI now has support for future firmware upgrades to support
additional new EuroISDN countries and variants.

***note*** It is necessary to upgrade both firmware and GUI.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. Refer to README.TXT for detailed instructions on installing and 
using the software.
