DESCRIPTION:
Creates four diskettes:
- Two diskettes for Personal Computer Diagnostics
- Two diskettes for Computer Setup for Workstations

PC Diagnostics and Computer Setup for Workstations are both
pre-installed on the Diagnostics Partition. The diskettes in this
SoftPaq should be used to update these utilities on the Diagnostics
Partition. They can also be used to restore the Diagnostics Partition
if it has been destroyed. Both utilities can be run by pressing F10
when the cursor moves to the upper right corner of the screen during
power-up or reboot. Or they can be run directly from these diskettes.

Personal Computer Diagnostics contains programs that can test and
inspect the state of Compaq Professional Workstations and their devices.

Computer Setup for Workstations allows the user to configure security
and power management settings as well as system resources
(DMA, IRQ, I/O Ports, and Memory).

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain four (4) formatted 1.44 MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to
that directory. The file that is downloaded is an executable with
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file.
You will be prompted when to place each of the four formatted
1.44 MB diskettes into a diskette drive to create the diskettes.
Label them as follows, using the Version numbers from above:
First Diskette -- Personal Computer Diagnostics
                  (Test Utility)
Second Diskette -- Personal Computer Diagnostics
                   (Inspect Utility)
Third Diskette -- Computer Setup for Workstations
                  (Disk 1 of 2)
Fourth Diskette -- Computer Setup for Workstations
                   (Disk 2 of 2)

4. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the SoftPaq file
downloaded in step 2 if you wish.

5. Power down your computer, place the Personal Computer Diagnostics
diskette number 1 (Test Utility) in Drive A:, and power up your computer.
     a. To create or upgrade the Diagnostics Partition,
select Manage Diagnostics Partition from the Compaq Utilities
menu, then select either Create or Upgrade Diagnostics
Partition. You will be prompted on when to insert the two
         Computer Setup for Workstations diskettes.
     b. To run TEST or INSPECT from the diskette without upgrading the
Diagnostics Partition, select either TEST or INSPECT from the
         Compaq Utilities menu.

6. To run Computer Setup from diskette without creating or upgrading the
Diagnostics Partition, boot from the Compaq Setup for Workstations
diskette number 1, and select Run Setup from the main menu.
