This Softpaq creates the OS/2 NIC Support Software Diskettes
for Compaq Version 1.56 Rev A.

Enhancements/Fixes:
This release of OS/2 NIC Support Software Diskette v1.56
Rev A, NETFLX3.DOS  driver enhanced to fix the data corruption 
problem with SMART Array Controllers.

NEW FEATURES AND UPDATES:

This section details the new features and problems fixed by
the contents of the Compaq NIC Support Software Diskette
v1.56 for OS/2.

1. Compaq NETFLEX3 Driver for DOS

   NETFLX3.DOS driver v1.79, has been updated to fix the
   Data corruption problem with Smart Array Controllers.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the Softpaq to an empty directory on your
   hard drive and change to that directory. The file that
   is downloaded is SP4751.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the Softpaq
   file:
      SP4751 [ENTER]

   The following files should be created:

   QRST5.EXE
   276801US._01
   276801US._02
   SP4751.TXT

3. Obtain 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the diskettes, run QRST5 and follow the
   On-screen instructions.

5. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the
   downloaded file SP4751.EXE and the other files created
   on your hard drive if you wish.

6. Refer to UPDATES.HTM on the First Diskette by typing
         A:\Viewme A:\HTMLRDR\UPDATES.HTM
   at the OS/2 prompt for installation instructions
   and additional information. OR
   Refer UPDATES.RDM on the generated diskettes by
   typing A:\Readme
