DESCRIPTION:

This Softpaq creates the OS/2 Support Software Diskettes
for Compaq Version 3.40 Rev A.

Enhancements/Fixes:

NEW FEATURES AND UPDATES:

This section details the new features and problems fixed
by the contents of the Compaq Support Software Diskette
v3.40A for OS/2.
 
1.  Compaq 32-bit Helper Driver for OS/2

    The Compaq 32-bit Helper Driver for OS/2 v3.20 is a 
    maintenance release.

2.  Compaq OnLine Array Configuration Utility for OS/2

    The Compaq OnLine Array Configuration Utility for OS/2
    v2.20A has been enhanced to support the controller
    SmartArray 221.

3.  Compaq SCSI Controller Support For OS/2

    The Compaq SCSI driver, CPQ53CX.ADD Version 2.70 
    has been enhanced to provide hot replace facility  
    for Compaq SCSI Controllers. This version of the
    driver also provides online pairing and dissolving 
    of redundant back-up pairs of Compaq SCSI Controllers.     

4.  Compaq Fibre Channel Array Controller Driver for OS/2
   
    Compaq Fibre Channel Array Controller Driver v1.20 has
    been updated to support Hot replacement of Compaq Fibre
    Channel Array Controllers.  This version of the driver
    also supports Online Making and Dissolving of redundant
    back-up pairs of Compaq Fibre Channel Array Controllers.

5.  Compaq Storage Configuration Utility for OS/2

    The Compaq Storage Configuration Utility for OS/2 
    v1.00 is used for Hot replacement of Compaq Storage 
    Controllers. This utility Supports SCSI, Array and 
    Fibre Channel Array Controllers. It is also used to 
    make or dissolve Online Redundant back-up pairs of 
    Compaq Storage Controllers.

6.  Compaq EIDE Driver for OS/2
   
    The Compaq EIDE Driver for OS/2 v1.20 has been updated
    to support IDE hard disks having the capacity greater
    than 8.5 GB.

7.  Compaq Server System Management Driver for OS/2

    The Compaq Server System Management Driver for OS/2 
    v2.11 has been updated to support OS/2 Warp Server 
    for e-Business. 

8.  Compaq Server Wellness Driver for OS/2

    The Compaq Server Wellness Driver for OS/2 v3.61 has
    been updated to support OS/2 Warp Server for e-Business.

9.  Compaq Array Driver for OS/2

    The Compaq Array driver, CPQARRAY.ADD Version 3.60 
    has been enhanced to provide hot replace facility for 
    Compaq Array Controllers. This version of the driver 
    also provides online pairing and dissolving of redundant
    back-up pairs of Compaq Array Controllers.     

10. Compaq Wellness Utility for OS/2 
   
    The Compaq Wellness Utility v2.1 has been updated 
    to support the latest servers. 
    
11. Compaq Support Software Setup Utility for OS/2

    The Compaq Support Software Setup Utility for OS/2 v1.2
    has been updated to support Compaq Storage Configuration
    utility.  This utility is also updated to support Java
    Runtime Environment v1.1.4 or above.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the Softpaq to an empty directory on your
   hard drive and change to that directory. The file that
   is downloaded is SP4740.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the Softpaq
   file:
      SP4740 [ENTER]

   The following files should be created:

   QRST5.EXE
   277096US._01
   277096US._02
   277096US._03
   277096US._04
   277096US._05
   SP4740.TXT

3. Obtain 5 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the diskettes, run QRST5 and follow the
   on-screen instructions.

5. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the
   downloaded file SP4740.EXE and the other files created
   on your hard drive if you wish.

6. Type VIEWME at the command prompt on the First Diskette
   for additional information.
