DESCRIPTION:

This Softpaq creates the OS/2 NIC Support Software Diskettes
for Compaq Version 1.10 Rev A. For complete information 
on changes and enhancements to the OS/2  NIC Support 
Software diskette, see UPDATES.HTM on the First Diskette 
by typing 
  A:\ Viewme A:\HTMLRDR\UPDATES.HTM
at the OS/2 prompt.  OR
See UPDATES.RDM on the generated Diskettes by typing A:\ Readme
  

NEW FEATURES AND UPDATES:

This section details the new features and problems fixed by
the contents of the Compaq NIC Support Software Diskette v1.10A
for OS/2.

1.Compaq SSD Setup Utility For OS/2

The Compaq Support Software diskette Setup Utility for OS/2 from 
Compaq v1.00, is a Java based utility that helps in installing 
Compaq supplied drivers and Utilities.to your OS/2 machine.
Please note that you must have the correct version  of Java Virtual 
Machine installed on your machine.

2. Compaq Token Ring ISA Driver For OS/2 Update

The Token Ring ISA driver for OS/2, CPQTRISA.OS2 v1.19 has been
updated with the following changes.

a) The ranges for Packetsize and NetAddress parameters has 
   been changed

3. Compaq Token Ring PCI Driver For OS2 Update 

The Token Ring PCI driver for OS2, CPQTRPCI.OS2 v1.19  has been 
updated with the following changes.

a) The ranges for Packetsize and NetAddress parameters has 
been changed

4. Compaq 3 Com Driver For OS2 Update

The Token Ring 3COM driver for OS2, TL3C3X9.OS2 v3.27  has been
updated with the following changes.  

a) The ranges for Packetsize and NetAddress parameters has 
been changed

   
5. Compaq Netflex-3 Driver For OS/2 Update

The NetFlex-3 driver for OS/2, NETFLX3.OS2 v2.51 has been
updated to workaround for Live Lock problems on servers
Compaq ProLiant 6000 Pentium II Xeon and Compaq ProLiant
7000 Pentium II Xeon. 


6. Compaq Network Fault Tolerant  For OS/2  Support  Update

CPQNET Utility has been updated to display the updated driver 
NETFLX3.OS2 Version information v2.51  and also the utility 
information.


7. Compaq Netflex-3 Driver For DOS Update

The NetFlex-3 driver for DOS, NETFLX3.DOS v1.77 has been
updated to workaround for Live Lock problems on servers
Compaq ProLiant 6000 Pentium II Xeon and Compaq ProLiant
7000 Pentium II Xeon. 

HOW TO USE:

1.Download the Softpaq to an empty directory on your 
  hard drive and change to that directory. The file that 
  is downloaded is SP4725.EXE.

2.From that drive and directory, execute the Softpaq
  file: 
      SP4725 [ENTER]

  The following files should be created:

  QRST5.EXE
  276801US._01
  276801US._02
  SP4725.TXT

3. Obtain 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the diskettes, run QRST5 and follow the 
   on-screen instructions.

5. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the 
   downloaded file SP4725.EXE and the other files created 
   on your hard drive if you wish.

6. Refer to UPDATES.HTM on the First Diskette by typing 
         A:\Viewme A:\HTMLRDR\UPDATES.HTM
   at the OS/2 prompt for installation instructions
   and additional information. OR
   Refer UPDATES.RDM on the generated diskettes by 
   typing A:\Readme
