NEW FEATURES AND UPDATES:
This section details the new features and problems fixed by the
contents of the Compaq Support Software Diskette v3.01A for OS/2
2.x or later.
1. Compaq Array Configuration Utility for Win-OS/2
This utility is used to configure Disk Arrays and RAID volumes on
SCSI drive storage systems connected to Compaq SMART-2, SMART-2/SL,
SMART-2/DH, Fibre Channel Host and Remote Controllers.
It provides an intelligent and user friendly way to configure and
manage the above mentioned array controllers. It provides facilities
to easily expand or modify drives connected to the Array controllers.
This utility also supports online configuration of drive arrays and
RAID volumes.
2. Compaq Fibre Channel Controller Driver for OS/2
The Compaq Fibre Channel driver for OS/2, CPQFCAL.ADD v1.00 supports
the Compaq Fibre Channel Storage Systems on OS/2. The Compaq Fibre
Channel Storage System consists of Compaq Fibre Channel Host
controller and Compaq Fibre Channel Array controller connected on a
Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FCAL).
3. Compaq Network Fault Tolerant Support for OS/2
Network Fault Tolerance is achieved on Compaq servers by configuring
a redundant network controller that devotes itself to backing up the
controller that is currently "operational" on the same Ethernet
segment. In the event of a network failure either due to a wire fault
or an internal hardware failure, the backup controller takes over
transparently. Sensing the failures and switching to the backup
controller is done with the Compaq Fault Tolerant Feature.
4. Compaq Array Driver updates for OS/2
The Array driver, CPQARRAY.ADD v3.30 has been updated to
fix a potential hang problem on Compaq servers that support
the Integrated Management Log (IML).
The Array driver, CPQARRAY.ADD V3.30 has been updated to support
Compaq Array Configuration Utility for Win-OS/2 Version 1.00.
5. Compaq IDE Driver updates for OS/2
The Compaq EIDE driver for OS/2, CPQEIDE.ADD v1.15 has been
updated to fix a potential 'Trap D' that occurs on an OS/2 Warp
system with more than 12 hard disk drives and Fixpak 32 (XR_W032).
The Compaq EIDE driver for OS/2, CPQEIDE.ADD v1.15 has been
updated to fix the below message appearing even if the
IBM1S506.ADD entry does not exist in CONFIG.SYS.
"CPQEIDE : Unable to allocate resources. Driver will be unloaded.
Please remove IBM1S506.ADD from CONFIG.SYS, if present."
The Compaq EIDE driver for OS/2, CPQEIDE.ADD v1.15 has been
updated to fix a problem in reporting the Device Type to
Compaq Insight Manager (CIM).
6. Compaq NetFlex-3 Driver for OS/2 update
The NetFlex-3 driver for OS/2, NETFLX3.OS2 v2.30 supports
Network Fault Tolerance. Network Fault Tolerance is achieved on
Compaq servers by configuring a redundant network controller that
devotes itself to backing up the controller that is currently
"operational" on the same ethernet segment. In the event of a network
failure either due to a wire fault or an internal hardware failure,
the backup controller takes over transparently. Sensing the failures
and switching to the backup controller is done by the NetFlex-3
device driver. This feature is supported in both on Half & Full
Duplex modes of operation.
7. Compaq NetFlex-3 Driver for DOS updates
The NetFlex-3 driver for DOS, NETFLX3.DOS V1.75 has been updated to
fix a problem with the combination of IBM-LSP/Vines protocols.
The NetFlex-3 driver for DOS, NETFLX3.DOS V1.75 has been updated to
reduce the physical size of the driver (effective reduction of
18,624 bytes).
8. Compaq Token Ring ISA Driver for OS/2
CPQTRISA.OS2 v1.15 has been updated to fix a problem with file
transferring using the LAN services.

6000.
- Inability to initialize when the SPEED keyword in PROTOCOL.INI
file was set to 4Mbps.
