DESCRIPTION:  Creates a diskette containing the file MONITCPQ.INF, which fixes a 
problem that can occur when using the Compaq Presario 1725 Monitor.  Changing the 
resolution to 1024x768 may result in a flickering image caused by the monitor entering 
interlaced mode.  Applying this update allows the 1024x768 resolution to be achieved 
using noninterlaced mode, which eliminates the flicker.  The update copies the file 
MONITCPQ.INF to the C:\WINDOWS\INF folder.

NOTE:  Applying this update to a different model Presario monitor should not have any 
detrimental effect, so it could be tried if a similar problem is experienced.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. To install the update, run SETUP.EXE from the target directory 
(or default download directory).  This copies the file MONITCPQ.INF  
to the C:\WINDOWS\INF folder.

6. Restart the computer for the update to take effect.
