DESCRIPTION: Creates a set of utility files that can be used with Intel
LANDesk Configuration Manager (LCM) to upgrade to the 12/23/97 version
System ROM in Deskpro 4000 models with a 586V Family ROM.
The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running F10 Setup.
LANDesk Configuration Manager is a remote configuration and program loading
tool for network PCs.
NOTE: The standard ROMPaq will not run under LCM.
Enhancements/Fixes in this version:
- Enables the optional Ultra SCSI hard drive to be chosen as the default
hard drive upon system start-up.
- Fixes a problem where the F10/F12 prompt was disappearing
in less than 1 second on systems with two IDE Hard Drives.
Added an extra 1 second delay for this configuration and the
configuration with two drives on the primary and two drives on
the secondary controller.
- Fixes a problem where the system would not boot when a LanStreamer
network card was present.
- Added Net PC compliant (PXE) remote network boot support to enable
Remote System Installation.
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Entering "Y" confirms the unpacking of several files.
3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
4. Refer to the file ASSIGNPW.TXT for instructions about the use of the
utility programs.
