DESCRIPTION: Unpacks files needed to install Compaq PCI IDE Controller
Settings for Windows 95, which updates the Windows 95 INF files and registry
database. When Windows 95 restarts, it redetects PCI controllers based on
the updated information. This update allows Windows 95 to correctly recognize
a VIA Tech PCI Bus Master Dual IDE Controller or Intel 82371SB PIIX3/82371AB
PIIX4 PCI Bus Master IDE Controller.

IMPORTANT! This update MUST be run right after Windows 95 is installed
and before any other SoftPaqs are applied. During the redetection process,
whenever the "Update Device Driver Wizard" and "System Settings Change"
dialogs are displayed, accept the default selections. At the end of the
installation, when prompted to restart the computer now or later, restart
the computer immediately.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file
is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the Softpaq
number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Upon entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files, a new DISK1
directory is created under the downloaded directory and all files are
unpacked into this newly created directory.

3. After the directory has been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. The driver may be installed directly from the DISK1 directory or
from an install diskette created by running MAKEDISK.BAT. To install,
execute SETUP.EXE in the created directory or from the diskette and
follow on-screen instructions.

5. After installation is complete, you may delete the directory
created in step 2 if you wish.
