DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks file MFC42.DLL, which fixes an issue with Compaq Phone Center 
and possibly other software that uses Data Access Objects (DAO).  Compaq Phone Center 
requires a version of the file MFC42.DLL that uses DAO Version 3.0.  When Office 97 
or Netscape 4.1 is installed, they install a newer version of this file that causes 
Compaq Phone Center to display the error, "Unable to initialize DAO/Jet Engine." 

To correct this problem, copy this version of MFC42.DLL into the folder 
C:\COMPAQ\CPQPHONE.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. Run Setup.exe from the target directory (or default download directory). This will copy the MFC42.dll to C:\COMPAQ\CPQPHONE

6. Restart the computer for the update to take effect.
