----- Enhancements/Fixes in this Release -----
This release supports the new Compaq Professional Workstation 5100, Compaq ProLiant 1600,
and the Compaq ProLiant 7000. Details are in NTREADME.HLP.
Compaq Support Software Setup Utility
The new setup utility for the Compaq SSD for Windows NT uses an entirely different
Graphical User Interface (GUI) than older versions of Setup. The new GUI is more visual
and straightforward, while giving more flexibility of new features in terms of functionality.
The new features of this interface are the following:
- Remote Installation-Added the ability to install, remove, update, and configure
components remotely via machine name. The new Setup 2.01 is no longer constrained to
the local machine, as past Setup versions have been.
- Command Line Installation-Added the ability to install, remove, update, and configure
components from the command line. This option allows most of the functionality of the
GUI interface, but with no output other than to a log file. This type of Setup is
desired for SMS and SmartStart Configurations.
Matrox Millennium/Millennium II Video Driver
- Display driver (MGA64.DLL)
- Added new product names and chip IDs for AGP boards, Mystique 220, Cyclone, and Chinook.
- Restricted FastBlt to the first 2 (non-interleaved modes) or 4MB (interleaved modes) of
memory.
- Corrected source coordinates passed to vGetBits in DrvStretchBlt with ppdev->x/yOffset.
- Added a mask for ModeType in QUERYMODESUPPORT.
- Modified DrvStretchBlt so that the call is returned to GDI whenever the destination is
actually in host memory.
- Modified the PickPointFuncs and PickLineFuncs funtions of the MCD to return FALSE when
MCD_COLOR_LOGIC_OP_ENABLE is requested.
- Updated the ALLOCATETAGRAM Escape service. The ALLOCATETAGRAM Escape service does not
require a FREETAGRAM call in order to re-use the allocated tag ram area, if the TagId
field of the new call is the same as for the previous call.
- Included the patch for preventing the 'Invalid Display Settings' message to be displayed
when the refresh rate is not the expected one in this version.
- Miniport driver (MGA64.SYS)
- Added new product names and chip IDs for AGP boards, Mystique 220, Cyclone, and Chinook.
- Defined default 60Hz modes for resolutions 1600x1024, 1600x1280, 1800x1440, 1920x1080,
and 1920x1200, but these defaults will be rejected if no MGA.INF file exists.
- Placed limitations on the modes, which range from 640x480 to 1600x1200, when the
User.MgaInfoFile switch of the registry is set to 0.
- Made the control aperture shareable when a Rainbow Runner is found.
- Included the patch for preventing the 'Invalid Display Settings' message to be displayed
when the refresh rate is not the expected one in this version.
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for
the files, or default to the download directory.
The following files will be created:
README.TXT
MATX.EXE
3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
4. From the directory in which the files are created, execute the
self-extracting executable:
MATX.EXE [ENTER]
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract (unzip) the support
software files to a folder on your hard drive and run the program
SETUP.EXE to install the software.
