PREREQUISITES:  Compaq Netelligent Management Software Foundation

SoftPaq SP3453, which also lists system requirements.

DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks files needed to install an update to Compaq Netelligent 
Management Software (CNMS) that addresses the following problems:

- Default Values Not Overidden
  When a user entered values in the Device SNMP Properties section of CNMS 
  for certain variables, these values do not override the defaults provided by
  the MIB (Management Information Base) Browser.  The defaults are: 
    Community Name =     Public (same for both Read and Write operations)
    Number of Retries =  1
    Timeout =            2 seconds
  This release of the MIB Browser allows user input to override these values.

- If a user generated a report on a table for all interfaces of a device, and the 
  table was indexed on multiple indices where at least one of the indices was  
  non-integer, then the reports would fail to run.  
  This release of the MIB Browser fixes the problem by letting the user run a report 
  on any table with multiple integer or non-integer indices.

- When any version of Compaq Insight Management is installed on a system, and Compaq 
  Netelligent Management Software Version 2.0A is subsequently installed, the CNMS 
  button fails to appear on the buttonbar when Compaq Insight Management is loaded.  
  This update fixes the problem by modifying the buttonbar statement syntax in the 
  buttonbar section of CIM20.ini.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 
the files, or default to the download directory.
Two files should be created:
  SETUP.EXE
  README.DOC 

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the self-extracting file 
downloaded in step 1.

4. To install the update, run SETUP.EXE and follow the onscreen instructions.  

5. After the installation has completed successfully, you may delete the 
SETUP.EXE file.
