DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq unpacks the files required to install 
the video driver for Windows 3.1 for the Compaq S3 ViRGE/GX 
controller used in certain Deskpro 2000 models, including those 
announced in July 1997.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your 
hard drive.  The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable 
with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From the download directory, execute the SoftPaq.  When executed 
with no parameters, files are extracted into the current directory.
To extract the files into a different directory, specify the complete 
path of the directory as a parameter:

     SPxxxx <path> 

Enter "Y" to confirm and files are unpacked into the download 
directory or the directory specified.  

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the  
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. To install the driver, go to the Main Program Group in Program 
Manager and select Windows Setup.
Verify that the Display Type is S3 ViRGE/GX. 
If it is not, then cancel and exit.
If it is, then continue to select:

	Options/Change System Settings/Display

Scroll down the list of display types and select:

	Other display (Requires disk from OEM)...

Type in the path to the download directory or select "Browse" to 
specify the location of the files extracted in step 2.

5. Select OK to install the driver.

6. After the driver has been installed, you may delete the files 
from the download directory if you wish.

7. Close Windows and restart for the new driver to take effect.
