NOTE: Users of older Compaq laptops not supported by this utility
may find support for their product in SoftPaq SP2170 (EX_BOX.EXE).

DESCRIPTION: Unpacks files needed to install a utility that allows users
of the above-mentioned Compaq notebooks to detect whether or not they are
plugged into an expansion base and use that information to branch to a batch
file.
Laptops are unlike desktop computers in that their expansion base (and
peripherals in that base) MAY or MAY NOT be present at any given time.
Users have requested a method of detecting the presence of their
peripherals in the expansion slots in order to have their batch
files branch accordingly. EX_BOX2.EXE provides this capability by
using the DOS ERRORLEVEL.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for
the files, or default to the download directory.

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. For installation instructions, refer to README.TXT.
