DESCRIPTION:  Creates a bootable Quantum Hard Drive Diagnostics and 
Firmware Utility diskette for the Quantum 1.2-GB and 2.5-GB hard 
drives installed in certain Dekpro 2000 Series models.  The utility
allows a user to run a diagnostic test and then offers the option to 
upgrade the hard drive firmware.
The diagnostic is a non-destructive test that takes about 15 minutes,
and Compaq recommends running it before upgrading the firmware.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. To run the utility, shutdown the system properly, boot from
the created diskette, and follow the menu, selecting the diagnostic
test first.  If the test fails, follow normal service procedures to 
replace the hard drive.  Otherwise, procede with menu entry to 
upgrade the hard drive firmware.
