DESCRIPTION:  Creates the file SMIFIX.COM to resolve the issue where 
the "It is Safe to Shut Down the Computer" message does not appear on 
the screen when attempting to shut down Windows 95 on the Compaq 
Deskpro XL 6150 or 6200. 

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP3070.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP3070 [ENTER]

The following files should be created:
SMIFIX.COM 
SMIFIX.DOC 

3. After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded 
file SP3070.EXE if you wish.

4. Copy SMIFIX.COM to the C:\WINDOWS directory and use a text editor 
to insert the line "C:\WINDOWS\SMIFIX" right before the line 
"C:\WINDOWS\WIN" in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file so that SMIFIX will be run 
every time the computer starts up. 

5. To insure proper operation of Windows 95 on the Deskpro XL 6150 
and 6200, edit the SYSTEM.INI in the \Windows directory and remark 
out or remove the following entries:
   DEVICE=VPOWERD.386 
   DEVICE=*VPOWERD 

6. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
