DESCRIPTION:  Creates a ROMPaq diskette to allow a user to upgrade 
the System ROM on Presario 4100 Series computers to the 03/24/97 
version.  
In the rare instances where the QuickRestore utility must be run, 
this ROM version detects and sets up the hardware normally.  With 
earlier ROM versions, some units locked up at the opening Compaq 
screen when restarting with the -004 QuickRestore CD-ROM.

HOW TO USE:

1. Format a 1.44-MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to
that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP2953.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP2953 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44-MB diskette into a
diskette drive to create the ROMPaq diskette. 

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP2953.EXE if you wish.

5. With the newly created ROMPaq diskette in the A: drive, turn off 
the computer and turn it back on to boot from ROMPaq diskette.  
Follow the on-screen instructions to update the System ROM.
